R11 vs. Burner 2.0 Irons

A lot of people say that there are many similarities between taylormade r11 irons and burner 2.0 irons, and some say the r11 irons are the continuation of burner 2.0 irons. I will tell you what their similarities and differences are. My current irons are the burner 2.0 which is really good irons. I am a mid-handicapper and after playing with the burner 2.0 a year, I found my golf has many obvious improvements. I am very satisfied with the distance, speed, forgiveness and feel the burner 2.0 irons take to me. And now Taylormade's new R11 irons come, I have read much information about the new irons.
Maybe, the design of these two irons are a little different, because they have the different color, the burner 2.0 irons are the all black design and the R11 irons have a combination of red, black and white, but for me, I prefer the all-black design, I think it is more cool. As for the performance, I know the TaylorMade R11 irons have the same good forgiveness and control as the burner 2.0, there are also some golfers talking about that the R11 irons are the posterity of burner 2.0. I found more information about taylormade r11 irons.
Because of the successful launch of the R11 Driver, the newest R11 Irons have received much attention. When compared with the Burner 2.0, the R11 Irons share several similarities and differences with them.
The Taylormade R11 Irons feature a dual head design made for both performance and control. They have a shallow undercut channel between the face and rear to control feel and CG location, the mid-irons have a moderate undercut, and the long irons have a progressively larger undercut that pulls weight farther back from the face for added forgiveness. The r11 irons also feature variable face thickness (VFT), starting with 2.0mm thick face in the long irons to 2.3mm in the mid irons and 2.5mm in the short irons for enhanced feel.
Here's what I learned:
1. The 2.0 is 1-1/12 longer, allowing for added length (5-7yds avg) but also more wayward shots. The R11 irons are straighter and you will end up using the adjustments to fine tune it once you get used to it.
2. The 2.0 is generally for the lower handicap golfer.
3. I have enough distance off the tee that distance isn't an issue, so the added consistency of the R11 irons was the tipping point for me.

TaylorMade’s new R11 irons (available in September) are disciples of both the Burner 2.0 and Tour Preferred irons.
The one-piece stainless steel cast heads boast a thin, lightweight face design like the Burner 2.0. The weight removed from the clubface has been shifted low and back to create a higher launch angle, faster ball speed, increased distance and more forgiveness. The result is comparable launch, ball flight and length to the Burner 2.0, as well as 15-yard distance gaps between clubs. (Company testing with low handicappers indicates that the R11 and Burner 2.0 4-irons produce identical carry distance; the R11 6-iron is 1 yard shorter than Burner 2.0.)
The “Precision Weight Port” system (a plug similar to those found in Tour Preferred irons) is used in the R11 irons to dial in desired head weights and swing weights, and to ensure each club’s center of gravity is in line with the sweet spot. The fixed (red) plugs—2.5 to 17 grams—are made of aluminum, steel or tungsten and can not be adjusted by consumers.
In addition, a light and lively face combines with “inverted cone technology” to deliver more consistent ball speeds and forgiveness on mis-hits. At impact, the R11 feels and sounds more muted (quieter) than the loud-ish Burner 2.0 because the R11’s clubface is slightly thicker in the impact zone and where it connects to the sole.
TaylorMade R11 Lastly, the R11’s short irons have a shallow undercut channel between the face and rear to control feel and CG location, the mid-irons have a moderate undercut, and the long irons have a progressively larger undercut that pulls weight farther back from the face for added forgiveness.

R11 Irons Give Us a Surprise

TaylorMade R11 Irons have been launched for a short time. However, it has been used by most of gofers. And the irons are very popular. The TaylorMade R11 Irons were engineered for the player who appreciates the shape and refinement of a tour-grade iron but needs the assistance of advanced technology to launch the ball higher, straighter and longer with less effort than their current clubs. There is a research show that the TaylorMade R11 Irons have give golfers a surprise. Because it has the unbelievable performance. Golfer’s game has been improved too much. In fact, it is the best seller on the golf market.

Why it is so poplar? Because it is used many technologies. First, it is designed with Cone Technology which is to promote faster ball speed and distance on off-center hits. Each iron in the set features the renowned technology, which was originally found in the TaylorMade Burner Irons. The Inverted Cone results in an increased surface area of the sweet spot with greater forgiveness. Second, it has the multi-functional sole which is to increase playability from a variety of lies. It also features a low and deeper center of gravity that makes it easy to launch the ball on a powerful and penetrating flight. So it is better than any other irons at present. You will not be disappointed after you used it.

R11 Driver and R11 Irons

Probably the hottest new driver on the PGA tour is the TaylorMade R11 Driver. I have to say that I really did try and try again to find a better driver to beat out my previous one in head-to-head competition…but I just couldn’t do it.

The TaylorMade R11 Driver comes equipped with Movable Weight Technology (MWT), which allows you to tune the driver’s center of gravity to promote a draw or neutral ball flight. With the 10g weight in the heel and the 1g weight in the toe, you’ll get more of a draw bias ball flight. With the 1g weight in the heel and the 10g weight in the toe, R11 generates a more neutral ball flight.

The R11 Driver Flight Control Technology (FCT) allows you to increase or decrease the launch angle by one degree. There are eight different FCT positions that allow you to increase or decrease the loft in .5 degree increments and with every adjustment comes a change in the face angle as well as the spin rate.

To match the popular R11 driver, TaylorMade released the new Taylormade R11 Irons, which are engineered with multiple technologies that make them stunningly easy to launch high and long. I believe they will become the next legend of golf iron set.

The R11’s short irons have a shallow undercut channel between the face and rear to control feel and CG location, the mid-irons have a moderate undercut, and the long irons have a progressively larger undercut that pulls weight farther back from the face for added forgiveness. Starting with 2.0mm thick face in the long irons to 2.3mm in the mid irons and 2.5mm in the short irons, they bring enhanced feel.

Besides, a light and lively face combines with “inverted cone technology” to deliver more consistent ball speeds and forgiveness on mis-hits. At impact, the Taylormade R11 feels and sounds more muted (quieter) than the loud-ish Burner 2.0 because the R11′s clubface is slightly thicker in the impact zone and where it connects to the sole.

In summary, the r11 is made for those that need to be able to adjust the club as they improve or as they are going from one tournament to another. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fresh look in 2011.
